IGCSE History · International relations since 1919 · The Treaty of Versailles

Why did the Treaty of Versailles anger many Germans?

You wrote Because it made peace. 0 of 2

The treaty ended the war, so ending it is not what angered them. Think about what Germany had to accept and to pay. What did Article 231 say, and what followed from it?

Your rewrite Article 231 made Germany accept the blame for the war, so it had to pay reparations, which many Germans saw as unfair. 2 of 2
