AP Macroeconomics · Unit 2 · Real and nominal GDP

Nominal GDP is $2,200 billion and the GDP deflator is 110. What is real GDP?

You wrote 2,200 × 1.10 = $2,420 billion 1 of 2

The deflator of 110 means prices are 10% above the base year, so you must take that inflation out of nominal GDP. Does removing a price rise mean multiplying or dividing?

Your rewrite Real GDP = 2,200 ÷ 1.10 = $2,000 billion 2 of 2
