The short answer

Tutix is for students aged 13 and over. A teen gets their own login and a patient tutor that remembers them; a parent can set up and follow the classes through an email-verified invite, with a recap after each class and no shared password.

  • For ages 13 and over; under 18, a parent or guardian agrees
  • The teen's own login, verified by them: nothing shared
  • A recap after each class and a weekly update for parents
  • Microphone only, no camera
  • Never sold, and not used to train outside AI models

Why a teenager might like it

  • It works around school and sport. A class can start at any hour, and a weekly slot can move when the week does.
  • Nobody is watching their face. It is a voice and a whiteboard. There is no camera, and the tutor does not judge a wrong answer.
  • It remembers. They do not have to explain from the beginning each time.
  • They choose how it feels. Seven tutor personalities, from a calm strategist to a Socratic guide, and they can tune tone and pace.

What parents see

A parent who arranges a class invites the teen by email. The teen verifies their own account, so the two of you have separate logins. You choose how much you hear:

  • Quiet, by default. A recap after each class, a weekly update, a note the first time a class is missed and a heads-up only when something is worth a check-in.
  • Closely informed. Quiet, plus a reminder before each class, a note if your teen has not joined five minutes in, and a note when a class is moved or cancelled.

A parent who arranged a class can also open it while it is live and listen, including the teen's microphone, and read the transcript afterwards. The teen's screen says “A parent is listening” while they do, and the invitation the teen receives says so before they accept.

Age, data and privacy

Tutix is for students aged 13 and over; under 18, a parent or guardian needs to agree. A parent sets up a child's classes with an email invite the child verifies themselves, so nobody shares a login. Classes use the microphone only, with no camera. Tutix does not sell student data or use it to train outside AI models, and you can export or delete your data from Account Settings. Read the privacy policy for the detail.

What it costs

You can start on the Free plan: 45 live class minutes a month (about one class of the default length), no card needed. Pro is $15 a month for 6 hours of live class time, and Pro+ is $30 for 15 hours.
