Where Tutix is today
A ready-made A Level Biology program is planned and not available yet. You can start a A Level Biology class now: the tutor teaches live from your syllabus or notes. Ready-made programs exist for other courses.
The qualification
Cambridge International AS & A Level Biology is syllabus 9700. The syllabus for exams in 2025 to 2027 is the 2025-2027 syllabus; a 2028-2030 syllabus follows. Exams are in the June and November series, and in March for centres in India. AS candidates are eligible for grades a to e (in lower case) and A Level candidates for A* to E.
The papers
| Paper | Title | Time | Marks | AS share | A Level share |

| 5 | Planning, Analysis and Evaluation | 1 h 15 | 30 | Not offered | 11.5% |
AS is Papers 1, 2 and 3 taken together in one series. The A Level is all five papers, staged over two years or all in one series. Papers 3 and 5 test practical skills in an exam, not as coursework. Electronic calculators are allowed in the exams.
What the marks test
At both AS and A Level, Cambridge gives 40% to knowledge and understanding, 40% to handling, applying and evaluating information and 20% to experimental skills and investigations. Cambridge calls these weightings approximate.
| Assessment objective | AS Level | A Level |
|---|---|---|
| AO1 Knowledge and understanding | 40% | 40% |
| AO2 Handling, applying and evaluating information | 40% | 40% |
| AO3 Experimental skills and investigations | 20% | 20% |

How to prepare with Tutix today
Type A Level Biology in the class wizard, attach your own notes or syllabus if you have them, choose a tutor and join: the tutor teaches on a shared whiteboard and reads what you write while you are still in class.
A Level Biology · Photosynthesis · Limiting factors
Explain why the rate of photosynthesis stops increasing as light intensity rises. [2 marks]
That is the observation, not the explanation. Name what has happened to light as a factor, and name one factor that now limits the rate.
A sample written to show how a class sounds. The scores show how the exam would credit each answer. Not a real learner.
What a ready-made program adds, and what it costs
Ready-made programs, such as IGCSE Physics, come with lessons and questions reviewed in advance, at five levels. The Free plan includes 45 live class minutes a month with no card; see the plans.
The twelve ready-made programs are drawn to scale, with a real lesson to read, on the Programs page.
