A live AI tutor: you talk to, and write with

Taught by Pixel, The Visual Thinker “Let's turn today's ideas into something you can picture.”

The short answer

A live AI tutor teaches in real time instead of answering typed questions one at a time. In a Tutix class the tutor speaks, you speak back, and you both work on a shared whiteboard, slides or a document, with your work read as you write it. You need a browser and a microphone, and nobody is on camera.

  • It speaks and listens: interrupt it any time
  • A shared whiteboard, slides and documents
  • Reads your working while you are still in the room
  • Reactions: I'm stuck, go slower, repeat
  • No camera, no install

What happens in a live class

  • You talk. The tutor teaches aloud and you answer aloud. Speak over it and it stops and listens.
  • You both write. A shared whiteboard for working, slides for the lesson, and documents you open in class.
  • It gives feedback as you go. The tutor reads what you wrote and tells you what is right, what is missing and why.
  • You steer. Tell it you are stuck, ask it to go slower or repeat, or park a question for the end.

A class can follow a ready-made program, where the lessons are written ahead and the next class starts where the last one stopped: see the programs.

PixelAI tutor Example

Live AI tutor · Number · Fractions

Write 0.45 as a fraction in its simplest form.

You wrote 45/100 1 of 2

Picture a grid of 100 squares with 45 shaded: that is 45/100, so you have it. Now look for a number that divides both 45 and 100.

Your rewrite 45/100 = 9/20 2 of 2

A sample written to show how a class sounds. The scores show how the exam would credit each answer. Not a real learner.

What the tutor can see

The tutor looks at what you put in front of it: your whiteboard, the document page you opened, and, on a desktop, a screen you choose to share. It sees these as pictures a moment after they change. It reads slides as text. There is no camera, in either direction.

Why live beats typed questions

Typing a question and reading an answer is a one-way trade. A live class is a loop: the tutor explains, you try, it checks, you try again. That loop is the part that builds skill, and it is why a short live class can do more than a long reading session.

What you need

  • A current Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge browser, with microphone permission.
  • A quiet enough place to talk, or headphones.
  • If your connection drops, rejoin from the same class link and your tutor and whiteboard are still there.

What it costs

You can start on the Free plan: 45 live class minutes a month (about one class of the default length), no card needed. Pro is $15 a month for 6 hours of live class time, and Pro+ is $30 for 15 hours.

Questions people ask

What is a live AI tutor?

A live AI tutor teaches in real time: it speaks, listens, writes on a shared whiteboard and reads your work as you go, rather than answering one typed question at a time.

Can I interrupt the tutor?

Yes. Speak over it and it stops and listens, the way a person would.

Does the tutor see me?

No. Classes use the microphone only. The tutor sees what you put on the whiteboard, a document page you open or a screen you share on desktop, but never a camera.

What browsers work?

A current version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge works best, with microphone permission allowed for Tutix.

What if my connection drops mid-class?

Rejoin from the same class link or your Classes page. Your tutor and whiteboard are still there, so you pick up where you left off.

How much does it cost?

Live class time works out to about $2.50 an hour on Pro and $2 an hour on Pro+, and the Free plan includes 45 live minutes a month.
